What is the clapping cat meme?
The clapping cat meme — also searched as Black Cat Clapping — is a four-beat joke: treat, shush, clap, handshake. Audiences read it as playful approval. Cat Clapping is the AI Cat Clapping Video Generator that puts your person photo and cat photo into that exact story for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts.
What does Black Cat Clapping mean?
Meaning is light: the cat “agrees” after a comic shush. The black cat silhouette became the default search look because paws and contrast read clearly on mobile — but any cat color works in Cat Clapping.
Where did it come from?
The format spread through short-form platforms in waves of black cat clap clips. Creator Peep (@merkurianin) is frequently credited in explainers. Cat Clapping is not affiliated with Peep or any social platform — it is a fan tool for making your own version.
